July 2 Day 31 94 miles

It was hot, but didn't feel quite as hot as it did on Saturday. The thermometer says 100 degrees, but we had a breeze which helped. The day started with a detour over a short stretch of gravel road, which made the ride a little more interesting. We were then back on the continuous up and down over the rolling hills, similar to the taste of Missouri from Sunday. The second SAG stop was in the cute little town of Jamesport, where we discovered Anna's Bakery, and expanded our SAG stop offerings.

Our day ended in Chillicothe, who's claim to fame is the invention of sliced bread. How will they ever top that.

We load our luggage onto the trailer at the beginning of the day, then sign to show that we are on the road. Whatever I need for the day, I now have on board the bicycle.

The day starts out with a detour down a pleasant gravel country road.

I enjoy seeing more green things, and signs of human living.

This area is unusual because of the use of letters to designate roads, instead of numbers.

We discovered Anna's Bakery in Jamesport. It was run by Anna's daughter, who was delighted to sell us pie and other baked goods. We added gooseberry pie to the offerings at that SAG stop. It was the best gooseberry pie I have ever had.

We see a few Amish people, often riding in horse and buggy.

In Chillicothe, they are promoting their claim to fame.
